Fat, lazy bds on The Hospital - hugely overweight couple 'live on disability allowance'.

Its not a disability - they are fat because they are lazy and have no discipline.

And we pay for it.

£6000 per op, 2800 ops per year. £16.8 million!

Didn't get to see the show (in fact I would turn over if it was on for health reasons, my blood pressure couldn't take it!) but I can't see how being fat can be a disability if it is self imposed?!?!?

Perhaps we should make it so cake shops are only allowed to be placed at the top of hills?

I'm absolutely certain this thread would have had far more replies if it had been in the old P&P.

It was awful. Good on the girl who did it the proper way.

I've lost almost 7kg since the start of the year just by changing eating habits (but still enjoying meals out etc) and increasing exercise. It's not so hard once you get into it.

Probably because you can show some discipline and self control which those cake and burger monsters cannot. Just look at the sandwiches that blonde one who was getting married made; 6 slices of white sliced bread is about 540 calories. The ham at 2 slices per sandwich adds 200 or so more, so with butter and whatever that gloop she piled on top was, she is looking at more than 50% of a sensible daily calorie allowance just from that snack alone.

Not surprised the surgeon showed so little sympathy. 400 times a year up to your elbows in the guts of the terminally cretinous is enough to kill off any compassion I would guess.

Well said Ken.

I was always under the impression that the NHS don't do surgery for cosmetic reasons. Nice that some people are denied life saving drugs as the NHS is skint but can afford this.

I am about half a stone overweight. I noticed this because my trousers stopped fitting comfortably. AS a result, I don't each so much junk food etc..

Now, at what point did these people NOT think, perhaps I could stand a lose a pound or two (hundred) - was it the third time they had to get a new wardrobe because their size 16 clothes no longer fit?

I understand what you are saying but I have to confess over the last few years I went from 9st to 13.5st (size 10-size18) Many reasons why, some of it denial, some of it stress (due to work) and some due to change of lifestyle in general. However last yr hubby and I felt time was right to think of starting a family. I was adament that I would not get pregnant whilst overweight and unfit, as a result I have lost 2 stone over 18 months (slow but sure).

My point is if you decide to lose weight for whatever reason, surggical intervetion shouldn't be needed if you really want to do it. 1st more to go!!

And please remember that if they do qualify as disabled then can get a free car on the Motability scheme.

Don't even get my mate started on this. He gets people in who are genuinely disabled and need transport because of a genuine medical condition.

He then gets people in who are 'disabled' because they have an inability to walk past a fking Maccy Ds.furious

He had one bloke who wobbled in actually eating a burger and spat shards of bread at him as he asked, "Which one of these can you get for no deposit on motability mate?"
