Weekend away in Wales
Discussion
Having read about G'breads welsh road trip, it has got me thinking. Who would be up for a weekend hoon on some nice Welsh roads?
I have posted on the Wales forum to get some ideas of where is good to go. Im thinking June/July time. Plan would be to meet early Sat morning, drive to wales. Stop somewhere for lunch then an afternoon hoon. B&B with a pub nearby. Up Sunday for some more nice roads and then home. Maybe even include a Meet on the Sunday morning with some Welsh PHers if poss.
Just to get an idea of numbers that would be interested, post below . . . . .

Personally I think it would be a very full 2 days if you wanted to hit north, mid and south Wales.
I for example stayed on the Welsh boarder Thursday night. Friday was north to mid Wales. Saturday was mid to south Wales. Sunday morning we left for home. These were quite long days. Would be a shame to cram it and miss a good chunk of roads?
Maybe people take a Friday off and a small group go up there? A big group would easily get lost in the back end of Wales!
I'd be interested again as I'm sure my 197 friend would be.

Sounds like a good weekend. All I can think of when Welsh roads are mentioned is fantastic windy country roads, ruined by speed cameras!
Still, with those being avoided, it should be a cracking weekend, so count me in provisionally.
Only found numerous plod up north. Mid is scares of anything and down south gets vaguely normal.Still, with those being avoided, it should be a cracking weekend, so count me in provisionally.
I still think it should be a 3 day jobby.
jim the run we did on the 12th apr was pretty much perfect started at horseshoe bend headed to brecon ,north over ranges to builth wells then headed towards penybont and knighton then up the b4355 to dolfor a483 to crossgates a44 to rhayader then elan valley then s bound on a470 back to builth wells and return to horseshoe bend in brecon (on the day only saw one camera van near to horseshoe bend)

I was meant to come on the South Wales meet but bowed out in the end due to not wanting to drive back up north again to then have to go south to go home.dannytherev said:

Ok! I want to go to Wales this summer...So to give this thread a gentle kick. Let's plan for July time & go from there.

Which places do you guys recommend?
What suggestions do we have on the route?
3 days sounds good & makes sense so we don't pack it all in a tad quick.
Let's get this one rolling

As long as it's after Le Mans 10th - 15th June.
If it's over the 19th July, I expect cake.
