Is it me, or does this woman just typify everything that is wrong with this country.
A self titled "non agressive G20 activist" who is apparently opposed to capitalism, gets a provoked slap from a copper who was just doing his job, and then continues to show aggression to the officer, who resorted to the tickling stick.
Subsequently, she has employed Max (morals - what are they?) Clifford, and has sold her story to a national newspaper for an undisclosed fee.
What an absolute joke.
She should have spent a night in the cells in my opinion, and there she is claiming compensation against the Met (which will come from OUR taxes), as if she was an innocent party.
This case just symbolises the torrid decline this country is in.

I disagree,
The copper was not "just doing his job", its the G20 protest FFS, policing on the day should have been all about dealing with aggression and ensuring that confrontational situations dont get out of hand and develop into violence or wholesale destruction. what the hell were the police doing keeping protestors in a cordoned area which was then genetly squeezed. It seems to me that the police action was all about an excuse to beat up some hippies, must have been a laugh. As a "suit" on the day it was hard not to feel sympathy for people who wished to make valid protest in the face of a massive police presence and intimidation. Gordon has just pissed away the next 10-15 years of our lives, what do you wnat her to do? stay at home and take it up the jacksie?
I dont have a problem with people looking after themselves financially in this situation. Its when girls kiss and tell after shagging a footballer, or MP fiddling expenses, or a PM who actively smears and attacks all before him, or when the majority are happy to sleep walk into a police state. Thats when I worry about the torrid moral state of this country,

Do you have any footage of the event? I would say in the main yes, beating seven shades out of aggressive soap dodgers is fair enough for the copper. There are exceptions (and I would also say on the flip side that the police are there not to react to aggression if possible but to defuse the situation - but without seeing the actual footage it's impossible to comment on how fair or otherwise this was).

Go on to youtube (can't give you direct link as blocked at work) Take another look at the behaviour of these "innocent" protestors. You will see them blatently inciting the police on numerous occasions, as soon as the police force advance you will see about 100 "protestors" taking out their camera phone/camcorder, almost hoping to be hit. Look at all this extra publicity their getting on the back of it. Your trying to tell me it wasn't planned??The copper was not "just doing his job", its the G20 protest FFS, policing on the day should have been all about dealing with aggression and ensuring that confrontational situations dont get out of hand and develop into violence or wholesale destruction. what the hell were the police doing keeping protestors in a cordoned area which was then genetly squeezed. I will say that the police officer in question should have held his temper as a professional, however if I had been in his position
10 hour shift
Being called every name under the sun
Spat at
Intimidation
Mob rule
Would I have acted diferently....
Interesting character change in this woman between the screaming harrigan at the protest to the little whispy thing with the softly softly voice on BBC news this morning...... shame the copper didn't get a bit higher with his baton, we might have got a bruised poonaani shot on breakfast TV!!

So it's the job of the police to hit members of the public with batons when they protest against the government? Two sides to the stories and the police haven't exactly coverred themselves with glory in the way they handled the protest.
This also shows the weakness of the new Pistonheads layout, 3 forums running threads about identical topics.

Try a little longer... our teams did 26 hours, had no meal break all day and the first thing they got to eat was Krispy Kremes donated by a supermarket at midnight.Edited by Shake&Bake on Saturday 18th April 10:51
The 'protests' were being described as a riot before they took place, the participants frothed up the event before it took place as something to watch as the 'City was going to get a kicking'. Offices were broken into and looting was taking place.
Sooo, you decide turn up. Why? You're part of a group that hurls abuse and objects at the Police. Why?
A mouthy little work shy specimen gets slapped.
'Good' is my only reaction.

What was th PC supposed to do, let her through the line?
We will soon find out what NF is really like when her bio is in the public domain
The vast majority of those there ware there to cause trouble or recorded it
Max is a publicist, if I went to court I would want a lawyer, if you are going into the media spotlight and expect the force of the establishment against you I would want a publicist. Max may not be a wonderful character but I can understand why she would hire him,
On video footage, if the protestors are "armed" with video cameras and mobile phones (and how else are they meant to "protect" themselves) then the policeman was a stupid patsy,
I appreciate the long hours but this is the fault of those in charge for not being able to organise a piss up, or perhaps they wanted this and then can hide behind "oh what a difficult job the police have."
Police are trained and meant to deal with explosive situations. If the only crowd situations they can deal with are when everyone is giving each other hugs, then frankly its pathetic. Perhaps they wany a career in therapy??
In my books police can only strike the general public in case of self defence, and not with excessive force. We are talking protestors not armed robbers here. Its "protect and serve" not hand out justice as you fancy it.

She has used Max Clifford to get her version of events into the media, how long before the Police Federation use the media to defend the policing and blame the protestors? We live in an age where getting your side of events into the media is vital.
Remember how the police initially tired to spin the handling of the protest (Brave bobbies attacked while going to aid of protestors who suffered a heart attack).

The vast majority of those protesting during the day were not violent (IMHO). I work in the area and there were 5,000 to 10,000 and there certainly weren't that many violent protestors.
Hopefully the courts will decide who gets what the deserve.
When i was refering to those that were there I was refering to the area of the incident
As to the courts,we;; NF has reportedly received £50k for her story and the PC has been suspended. So reguardless of what the courts do she has made a killing and will face no charges. The PC has it on record that he was suspended from duty,i doubt that will ever be removed. So if there is no further action the PC is stuffed

It works both ways - I don't think most people are suggesting that all those Policing the event were determined to give the protesters a good kicking just the same as not all of the protesters were determined to give the Police a kicking.
Fact remains that the things that were caught on camera are things that, if a Police Officer walked past you or I doing the same to someone, it would get us arrested on sight.
The fact it's a Police Officer doing it to a "crusty" whose views we may not agree with doesn't automatically mean that it's justified, reasonable, proportionate etc.
