Hi,

I purchased a new exhaust recently and sent the S2 to the local independant TVR specialist to have the shiny beastie fitted. Sadly, the exhaust won't fit. This is because one of the mounting brackets is in the wrong place.

There are three mounts on the car, two opposite each other about halfway along the length of the exhaust and the third in between the two pipes just before the diff. The exhaust I've been sent has the third mount 6 inches too far back (i.e. it is right under the diff). I'm intending to have the exhaust sent back to the supplier to have it modified, but I just wanted some reassurrance that the third mounting was always before put before the diff by TVR. Basically I want to be able to argue that my car is standard and that the exhaust is wrong, rather than have the supplier suggest that my car is a TVR anomaly (aren't they all?).

Thanks,

Ralph.

Mine's after the diff, about 6 inches before the pipe bends upwards under the crossmember.

I don't think exhausts and TVR's are an exact science....I had to have mine modified to fit my Griff despite ordering the right one to fit.... yet other peoples fitted perfectly.

Ralph,

My S3's original mounting point was behind the diff as per the other posters - you can look at the weekend as I'll be making the tech session post cheddar gorge run and the mounting bolt hole is clear as my custom setup doesn't use that mounting point.

My rear exhaust mount on the S2 is behind the fuel tank!! and the bolt fits onto the tank support cradle.

See photo of S2 chassis the exhaust bracket is just below the inboard seat belt achorage point

The tank cradle has the single exhaust mounting point in the centre

On checking back through my photos it seems I posted some misinformation...the single exhaust mount is on the chassis bar behind the diff (i.e. towards the rear of the car). This seems to match most of the other posters here.
