Nice one Aidan.

Someone published a similar picture on the Fiat Coupe website recently. 160mph and whatever revs indicated. The only thing was, the driver also took the photograph. The knuckles on his right hand were a little white...

Where's the one from your other car then? I seem to remember that one off the clock quite happily. (on your driveway of course).

Yeah i saw "burnout" video. I adore burnouts. I could do it all day. This makes sense of my life. That wanderful smell of burning rubber. I can't understand how you other can't live without this. Oh, i must mention hi-tech water injection on intercooler. It's a must. Gives an extra wiper-boost. Fantastic.

Not quite my view of the riceburner subculture but then I notice he hasn't updated his website for over a year. Perhaps some of the more extreme threats on the hate mail pages came to fruition.

Christ - some of these pictures are scary (if in fact they're not doctored).
203 MPH in a VW Golf? surely no ammount of money can make a hatchback like that safe at that sort of speed? (even assuming that the speedo is 10% optimistic thats a chuffing nutter speed).

I agree Paul. I downloaded an mpeg of a bike supposedly doing 220mph - fair enough it's possible. However 45 - 140 was done on the back wheel in probably 3 seconds and if you look carefully at the armco and white lines passing there is now way that is 220mph - 220kph possilby.
Mind you, hats off to them all!

Paul,
You obviously did not see the twin VR6 Turbo engined Golf done by Dubsport - 0-60 in 3 seconds - 600bhp!

dubsport make some barmy cars. I remember one at a track day at castle combe which was twin engined, one in the fron and one in the back. they organisers pulled it off the course because it was very twitchy through the corners though the driver believed it was because the porsche and ferrari owners were complaining

Nope I didn't, but its one thing doing 0-60 in 3 seconds, its quite another doing 203 MPH on open public roads in a small hatchback and keeping the car on the road.

I've travelled the autobahns in excess of 160 in two of my Tivs and a de-restricted M5 - the M5 was the more sure-footed of the three but I would not want to take that above 175 - 180 (even if I could).
