Dash has flashed up oil pump failure,reduced power,drive moderately rolleyes and take to stealer,booked in for thurs .

Anyone got any ideas/exsperience ??

If it had failed, you won't be driving it anywhere...!

Reduced efficiency yes, it will let you carry on.. but it shouldnt happen for sure... has it been serviced recently, and has it got plenty of oil in it...?

Crikey last thing you want on a high revving V8 engine is a dodgy oil pump. Hope it's just a sensor glitch and nothing serious/damaged.

picked it up today............some sort of relay failure scratchchin ?? told me that car had no other faults and had a full health check,TYRES!!!! on the rear need replacing yikes 6500miles FFS!!

Good news on the issue being a relay and not the pump etc. Not so good news on the tyres. You must have been giving it some stick or am I driving like a girl these days...

Thats the thing i didn't really think i was!! never go bananas from traffic lights etc,and cant remember wheelspin etc ?? but do give a load out of bends winkbiggrin hey ho the joys of an M car i sposelaugh

Out of interest what tyres were you running? The PS2s?

If they are PS2 Cups dont they only come with about 4mm when new?

It's around that I believe. What is the standard fitment? I think BMW offer 2 tyres, the PS2s and....... the other one I cannot remember.
