Property rental prices
Discussion
A bit of a variant on the ever popular house price following.
Rents are down on last year and seem to still be falling - both for houses and flats. The concensus amongst many is that property prices have another 15-20% or so to fall, are rents likely to keep falling whilst house prices do or are they not related and what's popular opinion on how far they're likely to fall?

The bigger end of the market (£1200+) is suffering as its typcially those occupiers that have been hardest hurt - the smaller end of the market, at least locally to us (hampshire) is continuing to tick over - indeed we're quoting £25 pcm more this year than when it last came up 24 months ago.

Not falling fast enough. I'm still trying to get a 3-4bed property in a nice bit of Surrey with garage, OSP for 2 cars, and not getting much change from £1500 per month, but there is so much more choice than last year.

Just anywhere nice near a station - even Weybridge will do.

Let me know how you get on. Weybridge rental asking prices seem high - I'm seeing yields of >5% here which I don't see elsewhere.
Agreed, it's actually one place (along with Walton) that seems cheaper to buy (relative to renting) and a lovely part of Surrey - just a bit difficult for someone like myself who likes ambulating.Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
