Z4M extended warranty
Discussion
Guten Tag,
The first of the Z4M's are reaching 3 years old (mine included) and as such are now due for warranty extension.
I have been supplied the below prices, note I have removed the excess on all of them as it seems sensible for the price hike associated.
With Emergency Service - £0 Excess
Comprehensive: £951
Named Component: £798
DriveLine: £623
Without Emergency Service - £0 Excess
Comprehensive: £873
Named Component: £720
DriveLine: £545
Details on level of cover here: http://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/Pages/Home.aspx
Currently I am set on the Comprehensive.
Am I mad to pay this much?
How much do E46 M3 owners pay?

Have a look for the 'Which BMW Warranty' thread from about a month ago...
I've just extended mine. I went for the basic level (which still covers engine and transmission etc).
I put an excess on it to reduce my premuim (as I figure I'll only be claiming for a 'big' bill).
I paid about £400

The only issue I have with the basic is the £5k claim limit.
In the event of an engine failure it wouldn't cover the bill and I would wager the same for a gearbox + labour....

I remember asking quite specifically and being told there was no such limit.

I don't have my login here but I am sure it was a £5k claim ceiling (per claim)I remember asking quite specifically and being told there was no such limit.

It also doesn't cover electrical items which on a roadster could also prove costly.

I paid £873 comprehensive, no emergency service last June for my 2004 E46 M3. Fortunately? haven't had to use it yet. Has anyone had corrosion on their alloys AND managed to claim against a BMW warranty?
No such luck mate... I got blisters on all 4 of my Z4MCoupe's alloys and BMW said that this was normal wear and tear. Funny that my 20 years and 200,000 miles Porsche alloys don't have any corrosion.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
