I was woken by someone banging on my front door this morning. Not best chuffed, I wandered downstairs and opened the front door to be handed my own wallet that I must have dropped some 9 hours earlier last night when i got in. All cards and cash still present. smile

so while I did thank the chap at the time, I'd like to say a big "thank you"
to him for showing that some people really are good.

thumbup to the guy.

Had a similar thing happen around xmas time, was ready to tear some delivery man a new one for over zealous banging on the door, had dropped my wallet on the drive and the lovely lady next door had retrieved it for me! Popped a bottle of wine round later for them as a thank you smile

I have lovely neighbours either side of me up the lane.

The ones on my left and have a massive house popped over last week to hand me their door keys and alarm fobs just incase their house alarm goes off whilst they are in the south of France.

No idea what their names are mind you hehe

Mine opposite are nasty, nosey bds. Made my life hell for a couple of years, of which I will never forgive them for - despite them trying to be nice now... long story.

My next door neighbours are a delight however.

I sometimes wish I had good considerate neighbours but then I think I'd only be happy if they crept about in their tiptoes and made no noise.

I live in a small dead-end street in a small village. I try to be considerate - I only do DIY after 9am, I warn neighbours on either side when we are having any work done on the house, I don't play my music loud without headphones on, I don't speed in & out of the street.

The neighbour to my left thinks it's ok to let her kids play football right next to my car, at least 6 of the neighbours think it is ok to disregard the 20mph signs at the entrance to the street and treat the speed bump as a launch ramp. Even though there are 7 kids in living in the street, 5 of which are under 10.

2 neighbours directly opposite me have old scrapers in their driveways so park out on the street - this means it is difficult for me and my wife to get in/out of our driveway. Their gardens are utter tips (the ones with the scrap cars) - one of them hasn't cut their grass for about a year.

The neighbour to our left also does DIY at 7.30am on Saturday mornings, just when you want a lie in. The neighbour on my right had two of those wee yappy dogs that she let out to pee at 11.30pm, she also has a boyfriend who delights in peeping his car horn when he leaves her house at 1am. Why I don't know.

There are a couple of other neighbours who obviously like their music loud in their car, but instead of turning it down on approach to the street they leave it resulting in us hearing the music even with their car windows & our house windows closed.

I really wish I had the money to move. Or some guns.

I've been up at my house today doing some (building)work.

The lady next door came over for a chat and brought some plants/bulbs with her.

She asked me if I wanted them for my flat. hehe
Sweet but just wrong too.

She always keeps an eye on my house and cars when I'm not there. Top lady. smile

In contrast some of my neighbours at the flat are weapons grade bell ends.
