I met Steve Kingshott after the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, and was most impressed by the enthusiasm of the Viper club. I used to live in the United States, and was there in '91-'92 when the cars began to appear and so it was good to see the excitement htye generate in the UK as well.

I'm organising a supercar event in Jersey next Easter, as I did for the first time this year. Essentially, this will be a fun weekend, the catalyst being the visit of the Ferrari hillclimb challenge to the Island to compete in the Bouley Bay hillclimb. Jersey has some pretty good roads, and so this year all of us met up at a nice restaurant with a big car park, toured the coastal roads and then the hillclimb took place the next day. It was a very enthusiastic crowd, with mostly Ferraris, Astons and Maserati, but very much the 'enthusiast' owners (the others would probably be doing something else at Easter). Steve and I thought that this would be a great break for some of the club's members; there is a regular ferry service, which of course the 20 or so UK Ferraris will be travelling on, so transport is not a problem.

I am gradually taking on the role of area coordinator for supercars in Jersey (only one Viper here to my knowledge - though it is a tuned ACR coupe in yellow) and am encouraging all sorts of exotica over - Let me know what you think, and hopefully some of your group would like to combine a seaside break with Vipers and other exciting cars.
