Just been reported on the news that 40% of people believe in ghosts.

How can this be? Do people lie to the poll takers or are 40% of the nation genuinely flakes and kooks.

If someone told me they REALLY thought ghosts existed I'd get them sectioned.

Oh please, never heard of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost? There is a whole billion $ industry revolving around such things..

Remember that "what do you do when your mates are lying question"? Imagine you are down the pub when your mate Dave says

1. Yeah, last weekend right, we killed this bloke, but a few days later he came back to life
2. Oh a few weeks ago there was this huge gathering, but no-one had any food. Now this bloke reached into a basked and just kept bringing out the food. He must've feed a few thousand people.

etc. etc.

You only have to walk down any high street in the land and see the swarms of cretinous pikey chav's to realise that being a moron is not exclusive to those who believe in ghosts.

This is the results of those people with clipboards who try and ask you questions on the street isnt it? The ones who try and make eye contact with you, so you look away and move ever so slightly left and pretend you havent seen them, or suddenly find you've got a text message you have to read.

I thought they were always going to ask whether Jaffa Cakes were biscuits or not

We have reverse evolution, the opposite of natural selection.

Socialist dogma means that the thick, dependency culture, feral subclass are paid to breed as much as possible. Whilst intelligent, hard working people are taxed out of breeding.

So if someone told you that they thought that something that couldn't be seen or measured existed, you would get them sectioned? What about dark matter? dose Steven Hawking (sp)have to worry?

Was it a ghost who put up the poster in your girlfriend's room on New Years Eve, after that arguement that you had, labelling her at fault?

BTW what happened over that?

Just remind me when did somebody prove the tooth fairy / Father Christmans / Jack Frost / fairies / the bogey man / God don't exist ?

All these things are, to a normal intelligent person, inherently unbelievable...

evolution, it just, erm, happened ok
that makes adam and eve a load of old tosh

^^had frequent visits from johovis bread at uni while studying zoology, kinda boiled my piss but provided great arguments smile

and while im on the subject, if you like reading try richard dawkins, guy's a genius

ETA quote from dawkins "It's been suggested that if the supernaturalists really had the powers they claim, they'd win the lottery every week. I prefer to point out that they could also win a Nobel Prize for discovering fundamental physical forces hitherto unknown to science. Either way, why are they wasting their talents doing party turns on television?"

I think that education and science advanced for about 2,000 years until about 1990, and is now going backwards.

Perhaps we have a new Dark Ages ahead of us, knowledge and skills will be lost (as they have been many times before in history), and will have to be rediscovered in another 500 years?
