Bullet Camera systems - Group buy

I and a couple of others were shown this Bullet cam system this morning by a fellow TVR owner who has it fitted to their car. Its bloody brilliant!

I thought about approaching them to do a group buy for TVR owners. I have approached them and they are willing to discount, waiting to hear back what discount.

Does anyone know if ther's a seperate mic input, can't find it on their website. Wanted to mount camera at front and mic at rear (TVR Wedge )
If so, I'll be intersted in a discounted kit!

that dvr looks alot like this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/portable-pocket-MINI-DVR-Vid... would only need to source your bullet cam/mic (if it takes one, I have the zorst one dogcam do and its great) and its fitting.

I got this one...

I can vouch for the quality... ie - here...

...and you get a pair of stereo mics which you can attach wherever you wish with the kit.
The suction mount is a good-un too - I can verify it sticks to 170mph+

The marshals at Brands Hatch will not let you use suction mounts on track days any more, no idea if that applies to other tracks though.

I've got a 540 TVL bullet cam and use an Archos AV500 digital recorder. The camera quality is superb, but the MPEG4 compression file format is not good enough for my liking. Looking at recording onto tape instead.

I used to use an Archos AV400. I don't think it liked the vibartion and gave up after 6 replacements in 5 months under warrenty.

Ok, spanner in the works chaps but the kit I was actually shown was the one that motorsport camera's do, better camera and recorder, with seperate microphone input which this one does not have.

Will sort out the initial post and get some details up asap.

This is exactly why I didn't go solid state as if you're buying a camera of the 500+tvl qulaity it is wasted with compressed file format that mpeg delivers.

Also if you keep an eye on certain auction sites you can pick up a miniDV tape camcorder with Lanc remote input, camera input and soild state as well for as much money as these solid state recorders. You also get the benefit of being able to mount the camcorder to the windscreen and recording without the bullet camera for the best results.

I'm after a HQ2 camera for this summers trip so I can run front ans rear so if you do end up going to Dogcan I'd be interested in a camera essentials kit but not the solid state recorder.

I would be interested in the DVR1 Mega Clamp kit please, however do you know if you can add an additional cameras to this set up? In which case I will take that as well( with an additional clamp)

Yup, I'm using one of Dogcam's Bullets. I went over to pick my gear up as they're not so far from me (though a nightmare to find); Mark's a nice guy and reckon he'll help you out if he possibly can.

Buy the best Bullet you can or you'll regret it. You'll also be able to change lenses on the higher spec' items which is worth bearing in mind; they aren't that expensive to buy or difficult to change and set-up.

As Johno is suggesting you may be best off with the additional benefits of a MiniDV camcorder; they're less susceptible to vibration than other formats too. Just make sure it has 'AV IN' and the LANC remote is pretty much essential. I'm using a Sony DCR HC96E; hope to be using the combo in anger again at the 'Gredge Match' 1/4 mile.

New choice is fine by me (subject to size of discount) and it's cheaper too!
