I'd actually quite like to see her as the new assistant
I know it was a Russell T Davies script, but I found it a bit underwhelming even for him. I really wanted it to be good, as it was the only Dr Who we are getting for some considerable time. Maybe it was partly because we had relatives over who were rather loud, but there seemed some pretty hefty inconsistencies. I guess RTD wanted to pay homage to various movies (Mission Impossible, Tomb Raider, ET...) but if you are going to do that then please add some original twist.

Sand getting in the engine?
Stranded in the "hot" desert, yet not one person showing any signs of perspiration.
The sand was so so unbearably "hot" that characters were sitting down on it to take the weight off their feet.
The CGI budget must have run out by the time they got around to modelling the bus for the final scene.
The bus suffered severe damage on the way in, but none on the way out.
I'll give them this though, it was an innovative use for bearing pullers.

One more to add to the list of sillyness;
The number plate on the 'london' bus (as read off by the Police) began with a W, where as the desert bus ended on a W and was other wise completely different

Am I wearing rose-tinted specs or did the doctor used to have some ingenious way saving the day? The Christmas special he used a big special laser to zap the power ranger robot, in this one he strapped some techno-babble to the wheels and just drove back the way they came.

I enjoyed it for what it was though I would not put it down as a great episode.
