So who saw this last night chaps......?

One of the questions was which is your favorite Lambo?
Mine is I think the Diablo.
Whats yours?

The Muira.

Utterly timeless design, still achingly beautiful after 30 odd years.

And what a noise.

Still hankering after a Diablo then Steve! Mine would be the Diablo too. In fact, I was in Letchworth when they were filming that Countach piece, though obviously didn't know it at the time. It was several months ago now. What I did remember is that this blue Countach was hammering up and down the road that ran past a school when all the children were coming out. Assumed the driver was a knob.

- yep! To be fair though...they are a bit of a sod to drive....and he kinda made up the performance figures too - oh well!

the bit with JK and the miura window was very funny though

Diablo definitely my fave....though HOW fast was that Gallardo round the track?? Would be very inetrested in seeing the dry track time....

Got to say 500 Quattrovalvole Countach is still my all time dream machine, just stepped out of dreaming about performance and bought a 4.5 Cerbera but would still LOVE to be able to justify running a Count every day

Favorite Lambo(s)

Muira S (so it keeps the eyelashes)
Countach LP5000S QV 88.5 (most outrageous)
Diablo 6.0 (2 Wheel Drive - 'cause it's soooo bad)

And Clarkson have the Gallardo a general thumbs up then - seemed pretty quick to me - and wht do you think it'd be like to drive when you get used to it... Driving Lambos is NOT like driving most other cars - including Fezza's....Espeacially the 'traditional' ones..

When the Murcielago went round the track i didn't see the spoilers on the back come up once, does anyone know what speed they come up at?

It's also interesting that when Tiff drove the Gallardo on fifth gear he had loads of understeer, but when Top Gear did it they had a conveniently wet track and did not suffer from any understeer.

I don't think it's automatic at a set speed, it's based on engine temp' as well.

Per LL:-

Lambo London said:
VACS – Variable Air-flow Cooling System. Rear of car features two ‘active’ intakes for the engine cooling system. VACS allows aperture of these air intakes to be varied to suit driving conditions.

I see, i thought it had a purpose for aerodynamics. But i still think it's interesting how they made the track wet so they didn't suffer from the understeer that Tiff suffered from. Also what was the point when they had a 911 turbo and the other car (which i have scarily forgotten- a ferrari 360??) They didn't even bother doing a drag race and just used the paper stats to say the Gallardo would beat them both. Which i think is a bit pathetic seeing as they had all the cars there and it would have made interesting viewing.

g4ry13

You say it's "interesteing how they made the track wet" I think God had a hand in that one as It was raining. However, it wasn't raining when Clarkeson was driving it and said how it didn't understeer at all.

Who do we believe; does it understeer or not? I DEMAND TO KNOW!

For the average driver they will not go anywhere near the limit of the car so they would not say it understeered. But for Tiff who was probably pushing the car on the limit and beyond he had understeer.

Murcielago has a rear wing that comes up at speed, but the side ones are for when its stationary or in traffic, its for cooling.

I still sometimes wonder whether i should have got the Diablo 6.0 instead, but I guess its just not as practical?

Really do like the Murcielago, still too impractical though.

.... there's still time... and prices are only going one way... (stating the bleedin' obvious)

....and a 360spider is practical?!?... I'd say very little difference in reality.
