Anyone heard when they are doing an update to get rid of the crashing/"lost connection to host" issue??

I read on their forum ages ago that they were working on it... i know you can get round it most of the time by limiting players to 8 etc... but it would be nice to get a full 12 player race going!

the trouble is people with poor connections hosting games. if you have a good connection speed then there shouldn't be a problem hosting 12 player games

I have a good connection, my mates have good connections, we have all played for years on the 360 and can fill the room in any other game to capacity and play no problem.

Stick on Race Pro however and it throws it's toys out the pram at anything more than 8 people frown

Even Forza 2 used to let us have 9 in a room with no problems, and that had a lobby limit of 8 !! (There was a way to do it, too long ago to remember how though frown )

must be that race pro don't have a big enough server. same thing happened on GOW2 when it first came out.

Your speculation is amusing.

It is nothing to do with anyones connection speed.
The problem is that once the 10-12th person has joined the server, the hosts xbox freezes. Once that happens everyone else gets disconnected. Such poor design on so many parts by the developers.

This problem continues over all the games the host hosts. e.g. he starts a game and 5 people join, that race goes fine, the next race 2 people leave and 4 people join, that race goes fine, the next race, 1 more person joins, and bam, xbox frozen.

I host every night and the only way around this is to watch how many people join and once you get up to about 9, restart the server again. I mostly host games with only 6 people as once it is full people generally stay around and you can get a good few races in. Until they release the patch this is the only sane way to play. For people who want to join games, you'd be best off joining games where the host has limited it to 5-8 people, you have a much better chance of making it to the end of the race.

I'm no programmer(as I will now probably prove) but it seems to me that Simbin are not used to having to work to limits. Conole developers are used to having to squeeze things in and leave stuff out, where's with console developement they can just keep going and going then tell everyone what size computer they need afterwards.
