I have just taken a test drive at a local dealer. Well, all i can say is

I WANT ONE!! (and will have one soon)

The bloke who took me for a test drive was a top bloke, he tried to scare the crap out of me and succeeded, so when i took control i scared the crap out of him!!

There was only 1 thingg i was confused about, i had told the bloke my budget for a car and said that all i am probably going to get is an early S1 elise, but when we talked about the financing we was trying to convince me i could afford a brand new £26k elise!

Anyway my test drive with a 2.8Z3 is soon, but i think a know what i am going to buy

No, they were trying to make me buy the one in the show room, a black Grand Tourer (model?)

Umar - which dealer was it - SGT in Maidenhead? I'm curious as that PCP deal looked quite tempting!

yes it was SGT, i did ask about that and thought about it for a nanosecond, but the car was WAY over my budget. i spoke to a bloke called david foster, he was very helpfull,

I bet he though i was a real head case coz i kept asking stupid questions, but he didn't mind!

Testdrive the Clowns shoe (Z3) by all means but it aint no elise. I am obviously biased as I own an elise S2 but I have had the pleasure of driving a few Z3s...

Also, if you don't go for the Sports Tourer model and just get the base model you will move the price down nearer 22k...

Also, on the subject of lead times, there shouldn't be much of one. I know of a few dealers that have new ones on the forecourt ready to go...

My buget will not stretch to a brand new Mark 2 elise, in any trim, but i will be more that hapy with a mark 1 elise, will have to practice gettting in and out of one properly. When i do get one, the first thing i am going to get is a 'snap off' steering wheel, the car i drove had one which made it alot easier to get in and out of.

all i need to do now is choose a colour....

Slightly OT but saw a Mustard Yellow Esprit V8 on the way to SGT last night. Thought he was taking it a little easy until I noticed the piece of rope connecting him to the Micra in front.

Nice to see it's not only Tivs that suffer.

They had a dog of a V8 in mustard yellow they were trying to flog for 28k. I wonder if it has come back to haunt them?

the colours i would like to get are (in preference order)

1. silver
2. black
2/3. royal blue

i think a yellow or red car looks to much like a toy!

I saw the whole range of colours on Elise 2s at the factory. Most amazing schemes were:

1) gunmetal metallic grey, with red and black interior

2) chrome orange (or whatever it is now), with black painted alloys - awesome

I am quite tempted myself Umar!

Umar, the Elise IS a toy, according to numpties, because you cannot get 3 dogs, 6 kids and the shopping in it

there's loads of new sportstourers in the showrooms. My advice is ring round 4 or 5 dealers and play them off oneanother.
I've just traded in a car for one ant the price moved by £2200 over the course of 24hrs they will negotiate!!!!!!
