Just a query, what would you expect to be paying for a 12k service on a Tuscan from an independant ?. Thanks.

£400- £500 depends where you live, down south is a lot more money for some reason

I'm trying to decide where to take mine for it's 12k service. Prices seem to range from £500 to £750.

www.sebringinternational.co.uk or Trimar (formerly TVR Barnet - but you will pay main dealer prices) and Castle are also good.

£467 12k @ APM, less a new airfilter as mine was recent.

Thanks Zippee (and tuscan al). I'd considered TVR Barnet (as they're just down the road from me, but I thought they might be expensive). Think I'm going to go try APM - good prices and seem to have a good reputation.

I recently had a 12k service at Trimar, cost was quite high but they did a few other bits and pieces whilst the car was with them and didn't charge any extra (except for the bigger jobs - e.g. engine mounts).

Clearly your choice, but my impression is that you might find yourself paying extra for these minor jobs at other garages and therefore end up paying much the same in the end.

IMHO the most important thing is to go for good reputation and people that you trust.

Roy contact Dulfords near cullumpton just picked up mine yesterday after a 12k very reasonably priced.
When I was looking to buy a car off Trimar they quoted £950 for a service yikes

£325 inc VAT at Green Star. Tappets are extra but only charge for ones needed adjusted rather than a fixed price.

Excellent service as well.

I'm with m3 on this one - Greenstar is a no-brainer for good value expert service, but then we have to travel a long way for any kind of choice and they even collect.....

I would be well pissed off if I had a place near me that was ripping the arse out it - I would rather travel than give them the business!

Green Star TVR and X Works Service and Automedon are all good value and have ex factory staff and are very worth a visit. Also RT Racing in Sheffield are good for all my local stuff and the best chassis work you will find anywhere.

Beware of imitations... yes

I am going to use Tom Hewson, formerly the master tech for Austec racing in Crawley who has just started out on his own, forming TH Works just outside Horsham. Tom did much of the servicing and rebuilds at Austec. Overall a very knowledgeable chap with probably the lowest rates around.

Bookings can be made via email on THworks@live.co.uk or can be called on 07854890241
