...I've sold my BMW 730i.

Sad day - it's been a stunningly good all-rounder, but economically unviable as well as a TVR. And it appears to be worth a pitifully small amount of money 'cos I've wound the miles quite a long way around the clock.

So, officially now, I regret to inform other BMW owners on here that I will no longer be able to claim "moral BMW high ground" when the chattering classes start beating up on BMW drivers. Sorry.

Traitor, that's one less TVR/BMW combination then, I presume you won't be joining the ranks of the 'BMW knockers' though.

It's amazing how everybody who drives any particular type of car is automatically guilty of being identical to every other owner, or is that peculiar only to those who make such sweeping judgements?. Like all Volvo drivers are the curse of the road and are always to be found at the head of the queue, making manoeuvres without looking and signalling . Logically that must mean that they have split personalities and they change when they drive other cars? It's a bit like horoscopes whereby there are only 12 possible predictions to cover the total world population. Hmmmmm!

Regarding Volvo drivers... my parents had a couple of the 2.3 four pot models, and I drove them occasionally too. The funny thing was, they would do 0-60 in 9.5s. Now, my personal theory is that anything that does 0-60 in under 10 is quick enough to enable one to crack on a bit when the mood takes. That was all the time with my folks and I. The 700 series Ovlovs would out drag an xr3i at the time as well, with vastly amusing consequences for the cap wearing goon at the wheel of said shed. Especially when my mum was doing the out-dragging... with the dog in the back, pressed up against the tailgate garfield-styleee...

Apache, yes, I've got more confidence in the purple peril now than I ever did, and it makes me grin so much, it'd be silly to get rid of it. And it's a 500, which the factory is stopping production of. (Hell, I can dream about values becoming bouyant again, can't I?)
