Deceptively simple.
Gets horribly complex quite quickly.

One of the games that a computer simply cannot play well due to the sheer number of possible moves...

I played it many many years ago, god I'd forgotten all about it. May see if i can find a board for those wet windy nights in.

I used to play it a lot at school. I even made my own board and pieces - that's 361 neatly drilled holes and loads of neatly trimmed bits of dowel, in two colours.
It's in a drawer but I haven't played for years.

Similar story here - but a flat board and the counters are thin slices of dowel made on a circular saw with half of them stained black.
