Waxoyl/Red Oxide
Discussion
Morning all,
All is well in the world of the 'S2' after a new MOT and a very enjoyable drive out on Saturday. The advisory on the MOT was the signs of rust on the chassis that I need to rectify. My plan is as follows:
Use an electric drill wih a metal brush attachement to chip away at the rust. Coat with red oxide and then a layer of waxoyl.
Is this the best way to go (don't want to do a body off this close to the summer) and where is the best place to buy these products?

Scrape off rust, wire brush, treat with rust inhibitor (Hammerite Rustcure or similar) paint hammerite - several coats, then Waxoyl or ACF50 and you will stave off the worst for a while...
check for holes where the MOT station might not have looked (front corners of outriggers on top of tubes...)
take a look in the Useful links wiki for various rebuild/refurb efforts for pictures and advice....
