So im shooting a BMW Z4 cab in a few weeks time and I'm stuggling to come up with locations to shoot the car that most suits the Subject.

I'm most likely thinking something modern eg Business park/Industrial/Town posing.

Just wondering when you guys have to go and shoot a certain subject, how you come up with idea for the location?

Regards

As soon as roadster is mentioned, I'm thinking open country roads with good views, not industrial...unless it's heavily modified of course?

When I'm thinking of locations for cars, and I have free roam, I always tend to think of where I'd want to drive in said car.

Newstead Abbey

As you drive in, there are a series of little lanes before you get to the carpark/water where if you can get up onto the ridge you'll get a stunning backdrop

The sun in the mornings will be coming from your left as you drive down the main entrance. Personally I'd try it a couple of hours before dusk, if you're lucky you'll get a sunset in there too

Only downer is the entrance fee

You no that would look good come to think of it, I remember your shots of that aston and 911 roadsters and how fitting the location was.

+1 for newstead, ive taken a few pics there years ago and on the right day (weather) theres some awsome pics to be had esp if a nice car is involved.

O/T
there is a guy who lives in a house on the newstead abbey estate who owns one of the houses and for his birthday he invites all of his friends over for a garden party with a differance, he asks that all of his guests (if poss) bring a classic car to park in the garden. its an awsome specticle from what i remember when i were a little nipper. I have met said guy since when working in notttingham city and said he still does have these parties but cannot remember when they are + invite only obv!!
