Fire Extinguisher System

Try Stig's build site. He fitted one in his GTR. I've done something similar in my Can-am, although I put the cylinder in the passenger sidepod.

As said, have a look at my GTR build site for info:

I have an electric four nozzle system (two over the engine bay and two for the passenger area)fitted to my Can Am which has just passed SVA with no issues. I have placed three trigger switches, one either side at the rear bulkhead area and one by the drivers controls.
The actual cylinder I have placed behind the passenger seat. As the seat is inclined it does not take up much room.

Cheers Steve, not knowing anything at all about these systems, are there any good read-ups or info around..... spec, costs, operation, installation etc etc?
The plan is for a reasonable trim standard, would such a system compromise a tidy trim job?
I expect Stigs is the only documented install. The plan is for a reasonable trim standard, would such a system compromise a tidy trim job?
My system has four jets in the engine bay and two under the edge of the dash.
You cannot see the install apart from the jets in the engine bay.

sounds a good idea most only think about afterwards or when someone else gets seriously hurt...

My son and I built a GTR and installed a fire system.
A full cage, master cutoff switch, and fire system are required on all race cars, modern and vintage. Just because this is a "street car" doesn't mean you should not adhere to the same criteria, as this is obviously not a "normal" car.
The bottle is in the passenger sidepod. Our system is plumbed into the interior only, with three nozzles located on the dash: right, left, and center. The activation button is just to the right of the center of the dash, and requires pulling the safety pin cable and pushing on the large (two-inch) button. We also placed a handheld extinguisher on the bulkhead between the seats. The idea is that in the event of a catastrophic accident, it may buy enough time to extract yourself from the car, or at least give you a fighting chance.
If all racing requires it, a Self-built Supercar should obviously consider it.
Just my opinion,
David
