Shortwheelbase Audi A8 6.0 W12 ?

Is the Audi A8 6.0 W12 only available in the long wheelbase format, or is the W12 engine an option for the Standard Length Car?
If it is, is it available in the UK, and how does it compare to the S8?

Someone in the Audi forum may well correct me, but I thought it available in both SWB and LWB?

Personally I`d have the V10 S8 instead.

Thanks for that, just had a look in the classifieds and thres a couple in there, dont know why i got it into my head that the swb w12 didn't exist or wasn't available in the uk. Over here the A8 W12 is only available as a LWB with space for 2 in the back. The S8, on the other hand, is only available as SWB, with room for 3 in the back.

Just seen this thread - in need of correction! The W12 was briefly available in the Standard (not short) WB D2 in 2002/3 (none came to the UK) and the D3. I think only about 600 D3 SWB W12s were made and about 60 came to the UK in 2005. They were a stopgap between the D2 V8 S8 (as in the film Ronin) and the D3 S8 which used the more raucous and less torquey V10. They have a slightly lower geared final drive than the LWB W12 which gives stunning overtaking performance. They are obviously hardly ever seen for sale - I waited months to find one. It's a gas - much better (and I have read quicker) than the S8 which replaced it.
