Anyone else been caught?
£1 rise in my TV package
£1.25 to get a bill
£2.75 removed from my "lifetime" agreed refund due to past problems with service
Nothing I can do about it because they do not allow you to got down a package on any of their services without having all of your "lifetime" discounts removed and a new 12 month contract initiated, which is significantly more expensive.
Cannot tell them to stuff it all because a) freeview is poor in my area b) they cut my BT line, so I'd need to pay for a new line plus a 12 month contract c) I'm not allowed a dish.
That's more than a 10% price increase

Yea we got all that bumph, was having a look on the site to see what we could change, it all works out very confusing, we were looking at the XL tv pack, and it was saying summat like £40 a month, plus connection etc, then also had 'add V+ for only £40 a month, and no where could we find out if that takes it to £80 a month (if so they can bog off) or anything, plus it all seemed worked around new users as opposed to loyal existing customers, and there was no way that we were going to ring up and speak to a phone monkey that knows nothing.
So far we have dropped the paper billing, still trying to figure the rest of it out. Not easy!

Virgin are unable to confirm that this won't put me on a new 12 month contract. It has taken more than 12 months for them to get my bill correct - I don't want and don't dare change anything.it saves getting the same paperwork and advertising crap each month
It is very poor form that they now charge £1.25 to get a bill in the name of "saving the planet" when this week alone they have sent me two unwanted letters marketing their mobile service.
Oh, I did speak to a phone monkey who a) didn't understand or speak English and b) sent me a new modem I didn't ask for or need!!!

Tuesday - email from Richard Branson himself telling me my braodband was being upgraded from 2 meg to 10 meg free.
Wednesady: Letter from Virgin telling me my internet was going up £2 and they were charging £1.25 for paper billing.
I thin ki may phoen up and tell them i'm leaving. Get a decent friends and family offer through the missus who works for BT - i just like cable braodband.

No, adding V+ does not take it to £80 per month. You'll need to pay a one-off installation charge for V+ (£49.99 if you do it before 31st March, after then I believe it will return to £150, so move fast if you want it), but after that the V+ service does not cost any extra per month.So far we have dropped the paper billing, still trying to figure the rest of it out. Not easy!

However, saying that the V+ box does a very good job of upscaling a standard SD picture.
As a recorder though the V+ box is excellent, especially being able to record two channles whilst watching a third.
IMO the V+ box is well worth it. I've had V+ for 2 years now and (apart from a faulty box that was quickly replaced) have had no problems with it.
Just say you're going to leave them.I do this periodically,i call them,say im hacked off about something or other to do with their service.They then put me through to someone and they throw some offer at me,price reduction usually of the services i already have.Pity my utility companies aren't as obliging!
I use TiVo with Virgin Cable so have never seen the need to "upgrade" to V+
It might only record one thing at a time, but intelligently reschedules itself to find repeats (and there are loads) so I've never had a problem.
Biggest benefit though, is that I never have to see the Virgin menu system
