Will be getting new numberplates soon, does anyone know where i can get the rear lighted plate for the Chim?

And does anyone have any witty suggestions on what to get written at the bottom of the plate, as this would be the perfect opportunity?

All sugggestions welcome biggrin

Here you go Lewis. I used these guys when I replaced the rear plate on my previous car.

Have a search around their website and they'll add anything you want to the plate (show or legal?)

I had a set of plates made up with a reg i was thinking of buying. Had "Trevor Wilkinson RIP" or something like that at the bottom. Thought this was a nice touch just after the time he died. Think any writing on the plate other than official stuff is now not legal?

Like that.

Or...

"My other toy's got tits" which I've seen on the back of a few bikes.

For when my wife drive the Cerbera, I was going to have a sticker made up that said "My other toy needs batteries"

Just checked with my local guy who makes plates up (and REALLY knows his stuff) any car built after 2002 should ONLY have the NAME and POSTCODE of either the garage or the place that made the plate (normally one and the same?) and the British Standards "kite mark".

This also applies to ANY new plates made for ANY car regardless of age.

If you have an existing plate then you should be OK.

There is nothing to stop you adding it below the plate but it is not allowed to be ON (i.e. within the normal area of) the plate.

Anyone making up plates different to this are "show plates" and NOT legal on the road.
