I know that the Z4MC isn't designed as a GT car and I shouldn't expect high levels of refinement but I do find the creaking from the roof irritating. It's generally towards the rear of the car and is there on pretty well anything but the smoothest of roads. Any ideas on a likely cause and fix please?

I've not noticed a creaking roof on mine. Rattly cup holders and creaky seat yes, but the roof seems fine smile

Not heard the roof creaking on mine on any type of road, including some of the worst that Liverpool Council can throw at it.

Seats creak, seats rub against rear panel, and rear panel creaks a little, but not the roof.

Are you sure it isn't the seat

If it's the roof, it has to be the trim, have you tried holding bit's of the plastic trim ?

I haven't got a squeaky roof, but I've got a squeaky dash instead.

No problems with mine.. I would expect it to be the trim or may the boot lid not sitting right.

Our Z4 coupe always has trim rattles of some sort.

It surprised me because i thought they were built in Spartanburg in the same factory that my x5 was built in, and it was tightly put together...

I think that it could well be the tailgate - problem is that the creaking isn't always in one place. Looks as though I'll be going for a drive over bumpy roads at the weekend with my son stuck in the boot trying to identify where it's coming from! Perhaps the answer is to drive with the window open - then you can hear that wonderful exhaust note instead!

Only creak I have is coming from the front right. Thought perhaps it was the cupholder but I reckon I've ruled that out. Any ideas?

TIA
