Barbados / Antigua - what's the nightlife like??
Discussion
I'm planning to go to Barbados or Antigua at the end of April - is that a good time of year?
Also, I want fantastic hot beaches, great hotels and service, but also a lively nightlife (classy bars/clubs) with no larger louts/ chavs!
All advice appreciated!! Any other recommended destinations?
Thanks guys!!

There is more certainly more nightlife in Barbados than Antigua. Both have a great range of hotels and beaches.
I expect people will be on soon to tell you that while their hotel was exclusive and great, the others are 'full of chavs' in classic PH holiday oneupmanshipery.
ETA Except Dick Phallus.

Antigua is Tower Hamlets with sunshine.
It depends on what you are looking for but I've found many of the big islands to be ghastly, Butlinsesque nightmares.
In all seriousness, if you want kicking nightlife then I'm surprised you are heading to the Carribean, I would have thought Miami or the Keys would be a more youthful and bar style venue.
The Carribean is fundamentally about resorts and family/couples.

Barbados.
North Coast - Empty
East Coast - Rough Seas, Stunning Coast Line, No Swimming - Visit, don't stay
South Coast - Full of Chavs - Lots of Nightlife
West Coast - All Nice beaches, hotels, restaurants. St James.
All within striking distance of each other so;
Stay on the West coast (St James), hire a car and visit the East Coast for day out. Get a taxi to South Coast when you fancy a bit more night life. Recover on the breach on the West coast the next day.
Treasure Beach Hotel was nice. Visit Concorde Museum and the Plantation Houses, go on an all day dive / cruise - good fun.
April is a bit out of season I think.

I went to Antigua for my honeymoon....great hotel (very expensive) and great service, but I wouldn't advise going there if you're looking for lots of nightlife.
Fortunately no chavs, but that is probably because it cost the price of a Corsa per night to stay there!

Barbados is chavsville, Unless you want to stay at Sandy lane, rooms start at about £1500 a night up to £25000 a night.
Antigua I found very nice, lots of smaller islands to visit. We hired one called bird island for the afternoon/evening to watch the sunset, only cost a couple of 100 quid. Nightlife is limited.
Tobago is the place to go if you want nice beach's. And for £15! you can fly to Trinidad for the day, which as it happens is a s
thole. Limited nightlife again.

I just got erect thinking about how much money you must earn. Fortunately no chavs, but that is probably because it cost the price of a Corsa per night to stay there!
