Am looking at getting a Linder 460 and berthing in at Brighton Marina. Has anyone got a boat here who could give me the low down on this marina, pros and cons, etc?

Thanks BS - looking to keep it there for a bit of fishing and potting for crabs, etc really - a few trips to France may not be a bad idea on calm days, too though!

Would you consider it GVFM?

We had ours there until 2002. Very friendly staff. Personally shown around by the marina director (top brass in charge) Friendly fuel pump staff. Good boat mechanics. A lot to do in the marina if you are not boating that day. The Isle of Wight is in easy reach and so are Eastbourne etc and some nice coaves up near Eastbourne way. France as said is in easy reach.
Just don't catch the wakes of the ferries coming out of Newhaven ! ahahahah !!

Seas can get a bit rough compared to the solent but then you have to remember the solent is more protected and Brighton marina is on the English Channel.

I was back there 3-4 months ago and will consider putting a boat there in the future. It has a lot going for the place in my opinion.

I was just concerned that that there was nowhere to go without burning alot of fuel.

Good shops & restaurants tho

But nowhere near the city centre, you need a taxi

At least it's a bit of "proper" waves, rather than the sh!tty chop you get in the solent.

I've been about 6-7 times on our way back from various places. Like the place, great to have a supermarket very close.
I've arrived back from Alderney at 4am and had someone help us tie up after a 20 hour journey which was friendly and most welcome. Eastbourne, Solent and Isle of Wight are close enough, and you can always go towards the East Coast.

Was anyone else out from the marina when the famous Eclipse was back in 2000 ? Calm sea's before the eclipse.......Huge waves as the eclipse was happening then a mad dash from everybody to get back in the marina ! That is something that I will not forget !
