Hi guys
I took delivery of a Z4 M Coupe on Saturday. I am well chuffed!
I did have an order in a Focus RS but with all the agro they are having getting build dates i got fed up. So instead i went and bought this.

The fastest thing i had owned before this was a Fiesta ST. This thing is in a completely different league speed wise! And the noise.....
I am over the moon with it.

Beautiful! Really LOVE those... if only I didn't need rear seats
Like the red/black combo too, good choice and ENJOY...
Word of caution... if it's the first powerful RWD you've had get to a performance dynamics or car limits day asap and learn how they handle. It's an amazing beast and will handle well but I hear they can be a little twitchy... don't find out the different to a fiesta ST on the public highway :-D Better tog et out of shape on a course then know how to exploit to the max afterwards
Have fun!

Now all you need is to delete the CDV and stick some CSL's on.
Nice motor, but be careful in the wet.
CDV? Whats that?Nice motor, but be careful in the wet.
t installed by BMW to raise revenues by accelerating clutch wear. Also known as clutch delay valve, kangaroo valve, that effing valve, etc. - simply remove completely or replace with modified version.
Supposed to restrict the flow of fluid to the clutch so that it doesn't disengage as quickly as you'd like and thus ensures less jerking to the transmission...in theory. However, for most people who've been driving manuals for many years it means you're never quite sure when the clutch is fully disengaged and ready to receive the full force of Odin via your right foot. This means you end up kangarooing down the road like Joey Deacon on a pogo stick until you've changed up into 3rd (i.e. 60mph or 4.6 seconds).

I'll echo that - i have had a few powerful RWD cars, and the Z4M has a very lively rear end - so much so im taking it easy most of the time..!

First RWD car? Be VERY careful and for god sake dont deactivate the DSC you will die
Can't stress that point strongly enough - and I've been driving non-DSC equipped 300bhp+ RWD cars for 10 years. The Z4MC will spin round so fast you'll be looking at yesterday.
They are a suprisingly short wheelbase given how long the bonnet is! I was surprised to find that its got a shorter wheelbase than my transit connect van! The rear is catchable thanks to the quick rack but crikey it is bloody quick to let go. Its predictable enough but I'd recommend doing some play practice on an airfield to get used to it.

I will definatly get some track time in over the next few months(i only live 10 mins from Brands Hatch).
Lucky bugger - although I'm only 20 mins from Oulton Park myselfThe extreme velocity at which track days will diminish your savings is quite a party pooper, notwithstanding the fact that my Z4MC is much lighter on tyres, petrol & pads than the M5 was.
