A couple of years ago.. I bought a full set of Oz wheels from Ebay - Had them refinished, Diamond cut painted and lacquered - at £45 a wheel.

I have put 2 on the car, and still have 2 in Black bags re-finished.

The usual dust, peeling etc, has started on all 4 of the wheels on the car.

I started the dreaded HAND finishing this weekend, the first wheel is coming up really nice, a bit more elbow grease and the 1st will be finished. I intend to do another 3 for the car.

The thing is... I will have 4 wheels leftover - 2 of which will be in the bags and 2 a bit pitted but still OK.

What should I do with them..?

1. Split the set and sell as they are in the Classifieds as replacements for kerbed ones..?
2. Sell the pair of refinished bagged ones..?
3. Sell the bit pitted as a pair.
4. Get 2 re-finished, cut etc and sell as a Full set of 4
5. Hand Polish all 4 to sell nice and shiney

There's no point in me having a spare set..!
What's the demand like..?
What are they worth.. I haven't seen any come up for sale in a while..?
Any opinions most appreciated..!

TIA
Dave

It depends how much you cost your time. If you are retred or out of work, why not finish them by hand and sell them.

I would not bother having them prof' refinished if you were going to sell them. Pristine are changing £57 + VAT to refinish mine. Just sell them as a used set.

Better than scratching my Ar$e. A year Out of work.. 8 months my choice, but the economy has dried up business and jobs for me..! Looking everyday, numerous Phone / Interviews, but no joy. Not even casual work..

That's why I'm looking to sell 'S' bits I've accumulated..!
Hopefully never getting as far as the CAR..! yikes

Why not get the best set on the car for the summer use, and the worst 4 keep and put on the car in the winter months?

I've just acquired another set of wheels that were in poor condition, so I've sent away to be refurbished. So I'll then put these on the car, and my current set I'll have a go at hand cleaning and probably use as my winter set. The car lives outside so gets all the wind and sand that the Irish sea can throw at it.

You'll probably get more for single wheels than for a set...

If you have the time Buy a 2.8 TD Mitsubishi Pajero for around £250-400 and strip it listing the parts on the Pajero owners Club sites and ebay... I couldnt sell mine for more than £400 last August so broke it up and got £1400 for the bits (could have got a lot more if I had continued stripping right down but I called it a day when I made more than my target - as time is a problem for me...)

good luck with your job search wink and dont even think about selling the S...

K wink

Am after 1 or 2, so if you decide to break them up I would be more than happy to take a couple off your hands.

Cheers,
Paul

I'm looking for a spare to replace a kerbed one. Condition not too important as I have to refurb all mine anyway. Let me know if you'd like to sell one.
