Yes, that's me. Difficult to miss with the racing stripes, isn't it? Had to put a new exhaust on it because the stock one was whisper quiet. This one has no silencers although I'm thinking of changing the drainpipe tips to something squarer and neater.
There are a few Yanks in Cardiff. A burgundy '94 Trans Am, a white Corvette C4, black Corvette C4, several 3rd gen Camaros and my mate's infamous 1972 Plymouth Roadrunner in Richard petty racing livery.
Watch out for my new 18" wheels and rubber band tyres going on soon just as soon as my Powerslot brakes arrive.
No, I don't have that plate as I can't afford a 51 reg car to put it on. I believe it was an auction plate requiring deep pockets. I'm not really into personal plates, it's easier to write your name on the back of the car. He he. I see they've got Y4NKY on the auction site with a guide of £1100. Still too new!
Must admit, I've been sorely tempted by a Cerbera on occasion but the Yanks are light years ahead in terms of reliability, practicality and costs. A friend of mine has just "defected" to a VX 220 Turbo. fabulous car but sounds like a bag of nails. Only a Cerbera can beat his 0-60.

A good friend of mine recently told me that his dad has sold his Esprit. The last turbo (S4?) made. He had a case of growing fear from the day he bought it...fear something was going to go wrong. The last straw came when he took it into a certain sports car garage in Canterbury for a new oil presure sensor. He collected the car (several hundred pounds light), put it in the garage and then noticed the damage to the rear of the wing (it over hangs the rear of the car on these). On closer inspection he also found a scratch running up the n/side behind the door. On calling the garage he was told the damage was already there and he didn't get anywhere fighting this one either.
So, if ya take you car in for work I would advise a 'walk round' before leaving you car and get it signed. In Vauxhall's case the garage I now goto with the company car do just that.

I had a similar thing with the Camaro. Had the wheel geometry done at one place and watched them do most of it. Then took it to a tyre place and they did the usual and jacked it up on the wing, bending the bottom of the wing. I knew they'd done it because he yanked the trolley jack out really quickly and said "oohlook, someone's bent your wing". I got nowhere with that so now I take the wheels off and get the tyres changed or I supervise the jacking points.
As for Vauxhall dealers, overpriced rip-off merchants and I'll never use one again.
