Looking at some way to play my ipod in my Z4M.
I have the Pro Nav so hoping to play and control the ipod through this. I am aware that BMW can install a socket below the heating controls but that will show a wire and look untidy. I was hoping to install via the central console socket. I think it was marked TPU.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
G

Hi Gareth,

You need a little toy called the Intravee II (£180) and the Alpine KCA420i adapter (£20-30 on ebay). Total cost all in is circa £200.

For this you get full ipod control through your BMW stereo and when I mean full I mean full. The circular knob on the right acts as the click wheel on the ipod whereby you can search, by Album, Artist, Playlist etc. Been discussed before so check on google or here or the Z4-forum. All info is displayed on your nav screen. Its superb.

I have a guide for fitting it too.

For easy fitting your car should have the CD autochanger.

I'm getting a kit fitted that offers me full ipod control on screen (in fact it displays the ipod screen) including video so i can watch movies etc from my ipod. (On the move as well not that i will!!). It has 2 inputs so that i can also add a TV tuner/Playstation etc.

Can't remember the name of the stuff but it's going in next week so i'll post when i get the details. It's about £500 without the TV tuner.

bmw ipod adaptor off ebay for around £70 fit is DIY, does not have track names etc but full control of 5 playlists and the 6th as the full ipod replicating the CD changer that has to be removed to fit it you have it.

latest 3g iphone will need the power converter from the apple store - think it was £18
