D40 still entry level?

[dan1981]

Morning All,

I posted in here a quite a few months ago about getting myself a Nikon D40.

However due to various other purchases it never happened.

Is this still a reccomended entry level camera or has it been replaced by something else?

Ideally i'd like to stay Nikon as my old slr was a nikon and i like the way they work.

How much are D40's retailing for now or its replacement?

Thanks

Dan

the D40 is a model in its own right , the D40x was replaced by the D60 it did NOT replace the D40 !

How about EOS1000D. I was going to buy the Nikon but after handling both it was an easy decision to do for the Canon!

Thanks guys,

So it seems the D40 is still the entry level.

Is there naythign coming along soon that may replace it or are Nikon fairly stuck to it as their budget option?

Nothign agasint the other brands, it's just that i've used Nikon before and like them, so think i want to stick to what i know.

Cheers

Dan
