If you undo the nuts on the front mounts (where the arrangement connects t the bonnet section not to the chassis) it will allow the bonnet to move forward slihtly and you may then be able to free the catches from the retaining slider. Once out I am not sure how you get to the operating cable though.
I did the above when adjusting the bonnet position and it allowed me enough slack to free the bonnet when it jammed in position

Hi
This happened to me a couple of years ago. If you crawl into the footwells you will find the nuts holding the catches protruding through the body work. Undo these ( a fiddle) and you will be able to open the bonnet sufficiently to wriggle the catches off the bonnet pins. I replaced the cable with an inner brake cable off a tandem (good bike shop) and a solderless nipple. Again a bit of a fiddle and be sure to observe how the cable threads through. I cut back the outers a bit with a dremel tool as they were cutting into the inner. On completion the finished result was fantastic and operated very easily and has been faultless ever since. Good luck! Andy

hi mike
you need to undo 2 bolts each side, just under the catches themselves,
found under each footwell. a right pain to get to, my seats are out which made it a lot easier, use a rachet with an extention bar, 13mm socket i think, once undone, (they are very tight,) take out catches, then you can release the cables, make a mental note of how the cable is routed, for some reason my bonet wouldn't open 1st time, and i had to adjust the bonnet forward a bit, if yours dont open get someone to pull the lever, while you push, pull, and wiggle the bonnet, this should release it, mine now opens and closes better than before, good luck, i only did this the other day

also, i fitted both nipples (hehe, i said nipples) to the catches and the cable around the lever (round plastic bit) before fixing any thing down, then pulled one catch to its location and got someone to put downward pressure on the catch while i tightened the bolts
