Cant contact a classified car seller (WHY)

Hello,often look at this site and think its great,BUT isnt it typical when you want something it just doest work.
I live in Germany and I have seen a car I would be very interested in but my phone system wont allow me to phone the advertiser.have sent a couple of Emails but have had no reply,could this also be some thing to do with phone lines ??? any help would be great.

A lot of internet scams claim to be foreign buyers/sellers and unfortunately this is making a lot of people extremely wary about dealing with anyone who is not in the UK.

All I can suggest is that you keep trying and do your best to make it clear that you are a real person, not just some con-man sending out the same template email to hundreds of advertisers.

With regard to the phonecalls, you are probably having problems contacting sellers who are using phonesafe. Phonesafe is a phone forwarding system which filters out scammers and canvassers but (for the reasons outlined above) it does block quite a lot of foreign numbers.

Thanks Mr Will,have phoned my brother in Manchester and he has tried to call but it seems like a fax dailing tone.He says he will send a fax and an email from the uk for me so hope I get a reply soon otherwise will have to try else where,shame for the guy who has his ad with piston heads.
Shame the few spoil it for real people who are genuinely interested.

If you are getting a fax tone then it does sound very odd, in fact this is often a trait of scam adverts.

Can you send me the link to to advert so that I can check it is genuine?

My brother and a friend have all sent faxes and sent emails to who ever is advertising this car,and have had no reply.

Hi again Mr Will,sorry to be a pest again over this ad but if you look at this link 947594 you will see its exactly the same car in the pictures as the ad I comlained about and it is a lot less and its in London,check it out please,dont know whats going on but the guy from the original add sent me an email saying it was still for sale by him,VERY VERY STRANGE,once again sorry but thought you should know.

Any way I have another ad that hasnt replied to an Email I sent,could you please check it out and let me know how you get on. I cant keep asking freinds and relations to call cars I am interested in,surley you either want to sell a car or not,any way trust me,hope its not another funny one.

Someone else seems to be having problems contacting them as well, both by phone and by email.

In addition to that something just doesn't look quite right with that advert, it claims to be in Edinburgh but it is written in German and the photos don't look like Edinburgh to me.

I'll drop him an email and see if it get a reply, but if not then I will remove it as there is not a lot of point having it on the site!

Thanks Mr Will,dont mind the ad in German though,my wife is German and I live over here,thought it might help and not many people would understand the ad,that could have limited the amount of people looking,maybe an advantage for me.Sent the person an Email in German,but as I said no reply.
