It's a bit crap isn't it. I mean they missed half the accidents (Martin, Sainz and only just got Gronholm). I thought we were meant to be the pinicle of MotorSport and Engineering and then Ch4 give us tat like last nights show

Give the WRC to a channel that actually cares about it I say!

its on today at 4:00 its fifty minutes so hopefully should be a bit better, but agree the coverage this year has been poor, sometimes at 12:00 sometimes not even on at all

hmm, today was better - they seemed to have more cameras and stuff about, plus the show was a little more interesting.

Tommorrow's might be decent as well, live from 12:45 for 1hr 20mins. I hope it's better than usual tho.

My real question is why on earth haven't we seen any of the super-special stages. Surely thats the easiest thing to film (hmm, unless they have to have the camera's in the stage long before the first car's even leave the SuperSpecial). Plus, aren't the SS's meant to be the specultator event

I admit I'm disapointed with the C4 coverage in general (when compared to Eurosports) but this weekend so far has been very good way better than the Beeb coverage of this event ever was.

Am I the only person who is bored with the super special (Rally sprint stages) ? I went to last years in Cardif it was shite you couldnt see a thing ! Rally sprint works on its own, were winning is all in events like the annual "Race of Champions" but as part of the WRC it detracts from the event and doesnt make great telly especialy if people arent trying that hard for fear of losing time if you should spin.

todays show wasn't that bad, but they could get better reporters. The commentators where however decent!

One thing that struck me however, why on earth didn't they have the previous rallies, or at least a round up. It wasn't until half-way through the show that I learnt Harri Rove. went off...

The live stage was pretty good, showing each car in order and watching virtualy every start, plus it gave a good account of the full stage.

The only flaw was the duff in car camera work, though to be fair getting live pics from cars traveling through wooded areas, you are bound to get the odd bit of interference.

PS Well done Solberg !!!!!

McCrash didnt retire he stopped on stage to replace a punctured tyre, fortunatley he had a 4 min advantage (only took about 1.30 to change the wheel) over whom ever was in 5th place. So in a nutshell he hung onto 4th but lost any chance of taking 3rd off Tommi

What really narks me off is the times they are on, 4 o' clock on Saturday! I was at Resolfen at that time, so I got my girlfriend to record it, but because it was on so early there was no footage of the stage, ok I thought, they will show it at the start of the programme on Sunday, but no, they never seem to show the stages we have missed from the previous day. Am I the only one who wants to see footage from every stage, I don't think so, sort it out channel 4, you send your presenters and production teams all over the world to follow the WRC, so that's what you should do, follow it and show us every stage that's taken place,

rant over

So I'm not the only one who's been pissed off with Ch4s crap coverage this year. When they first got the rights they seemed to make an effort and I really enjoyed the coverage. This year everything seems to be post midnight and poorly advertised so I've missed most of them, and when I have caught them it hasn't been impressive.

I'm not sure we can just blame channel 4. Eurosport was a load of carp too.

When the new format wrc came into being were we not promised that this new media friendly format would result in;

better coverage
increased profile for the sport
more participating factory teams
closer competition
I forget what else.

The sport was sold out. Can't say I have seen any of the above.

Ok the aggregate gap between individual places on the leaderboard is closer but this is due more to the reduced number of stage miles than anything else.

This year we had two runners basically on the pace, one of whom had team orders telling him to back off.

The rest, apart from odd flashes of brilliance, were in the order of at least 2 to 3 secs / mile off the pace FFS!

Does anyone know how long C4 have the rights to the WRC? I hope they're made to renegotiate because Rally GB apart, when they've shown the coverage at reasonable-ish times I've been very disappointed. And then the structure of each show has been poor too.

Pull your socks up C4!!
