Hello All

I've been driving for some 12 and a half years now. I've driven in nearly every country in Europe and never have I witnessed such terrible driving as I did today.

At 7.05pm tonight I was nearly run off the Wessex Way by some muppet with a death wish in a K reg 2.0 Vauxhall Astra Convertible. Correct Mr Crazy Driver your first mistake was buying one of the late eighties worst convertiles the second was believing that you could write the rules of the road as you go. Of course tailgating a car in the pooring rain then undertaking said car and swerving into it so you can get in front is a great idea.

Now when I say 'run off' the road I literally mean run off the road. If anyone knows who this a**hole is then give them a good talking too. Do not put them in contact with me as I will probably still want to pan their face in with a Highway code stapled to a big stick.

Seriously who still owns/drives a green Vauxhall Astra Convertible?

I witnessed driving like that about 5 years ago. I took his number, phoned him up and made him drive 40 miles back to the police station I worked at in order that I could impart some words of advice.

problem with the younger drivers (god i sound old!!) is they pay too much attention to the car they're trying to get past and not enough on everything else that is going on.

a [insert rude word] in a civic type-r displayed some fantastic road skills on the a49 yesterday, not happy with his first overtake where the car coming the other way had to hit the brakes, but then he was back out overtaking when the car in front of that was (and had been for about 20 seconds) indicating to turn right, causing him to have to cut back in on the car he'd just overtaken and slam on himself to avoid hitting the car that was now braking to turn. My view is he missed this because he wasnt paying attention any further than 1cm past the end of his bonnet.
