Flights UK to Atlanta

Flying to Atlanta in July. Cheapest I can find (direct) is Air France (using Delta).

One flight states the aircraft type is -333, the other -764. Those numbers don't mean anything to me, (I assuming they're likely to be 777/747).

Does anybody actually know what they are.

Do you mean direct? Because those are going to be Air France to Paris then Delta to Atlanta. The 333 is an Airbus 330 and the 764 is a Boeing 767.

No. It's a direct, non-stop flight. I'm assuming Air France and Delta collaborate. The bookings with Air France but it mentions the flight is with Delta.

I think you will find that 'direct' means direct from Paris.

Nope! The info clearly states Depart Manchester or Gatwick direct to Atlanta.

I use this site which gives the exact type of aircraft - Amadeus
Manchester is 767-400 and Gatwick is A330-300

The strange thing is that Delta fly direct to Atlanta but they only use Boeings, unless something has changed recently they don't have any Airbus in their fleet. So if you are going somewhere on a 330-300 it doesn't seem likely that bit is with Delta. Air France have 330's but don't fly from the UK to Atlanta direct. So the bit on a 767-400 sounds like it could be direct UK-Atlanta but the bit on the 330 doesn't sound like it.

Orlando International. Collect luggage after immigration. Put it back on a conveyor belt to be transferred to the other side of the airport. Therefore always travel light and take it with you on the train to the main terminal!

Yes, I've flown the Manchester-Atlanta route a dozen times with Delta.

Have a check on www.seatguru.com to see the seating arrangements for the plane, and select your seat on-line in advance at the Delta website. You can check in on-line maximum 24 hours before you fly, print your boarding pass, but you still have to go to the check-in desk and do it again at the airport.

BA and Delta go direct to Hartsfield.

I quite like Atlanta airport on the whole. As for having to collect your luggage twice, depending on the gate you fly in and from a lot of US airports have double collection.

Still haven't booked the flight. When I did, the quoted price suddenly went up £500.

We've decided to risk waiting and going for a late booking.

Late bookings are 99% a myth on the major airlines - avoid...
