Passed through Gatwick airport today and noticed that you can win a T350C in a raffle. "Best of the best" are running a raffle to win the car, a Spectraflair Silver T350 with Pacific Blue/Portland Grey interior for £55 per ticket!...and only 1800 tickets available!!...(not a bad profit...1800 x£55=£99,000)...still, if you can beat the odds of 1800 to 1, they will provide world wide delivery and a £1000 towards insurance!...think i'll be putting my £55 towards some shiney bits to put on my Cerb!

i think it is not that simple - not only are the odds stacked against you, you also have to pass a "spot the ball" competition, so you get shown a computer generated pic and you have to use your skill (?) to judge where the football is (which has been airbrushed out).

If it was just a random like a raffle ticket, i would buy but I am not a footie player and I always have bad luck so...

It's run by a company called Best of the Best. best-ofthe-best.co.uk or something.

It seems they make a huge profit on each car... but remember they have to pay for the position in the airport (not cheap) and staff wages etc etc.

The guy who runs the company used to be a top business man, saw a similar project in India or somewhere and bought the idea to the UK. Not bad work if you can get it!

We are looking at running a competition like this with a Ferrari 360 on offer. You do have to include a skill test otherwise it is viewed as a lottery and that complicates matters from a legal perspective.

But shirley the skill bit is easily got round. What if not skill are the questions they always put on the crappy telly with the phone in's with a chance to win a holiday etc, things like;

Question: What is the capital city of Paris
Answer: A. Londan
B. Ney York
C. France

I would have thought a mere technicality

That's my view. If it's good enough for GMTV it's good enough for me. I'm still working on the company I'm working with in this respect. They take the matter more seriously.

I saw the same car and promotion at Stanstead back in September- they had a DB7 sitting next to it on the stand too- at a higher cost for the tickets and worse odds .

Anyway, whilst spending 10 minutes having a good look at the T350C, the sales girl sidles up to me and asks me if I'm interested in TVRs! er, hello- Mcfly...

As said above though, that is a major profit on the raffle!

Hmm. Online betting for the T350 has closed.

There are 65 tickets remaining. Let me get this straight: If I drive down to Gatwick now & buy all remaining tickets, I can pick up a T350 for under £4k. Is that the deal, or am I missing something?

You are missing tha fact that lots of other people bought tickets too and your £4K may win you nothing at all.

But you have 65 tickets and they probably only have one or two. So the odds are shortened considerably.
