Their vans may look odd but I can't argue the quality of service. Just this minute received a desperately urgent order via UPS from Ireland - bang on time.

Here's a daft answer. I don't know, but did you know that American Post Office vans are right hand drive! That's so's the driver can hop in and out onto the pavement side quickly to make deliveries. I actually bought an ex US post office jeep (RHD) for a song once!

My God, a post office debate on PHs!!!

Did you know that in the USA postmen collect as well as deliver letters - saves that annoying trip to the postbox!

Why are UPS vans also painted a nice turd brown shade?
How do corporates come up with these colour's??

I know!! we will paint our vans poo brown!! and make the drivers wear it too. (lots of backslapping etc...)

Hop out? That would be too much work. The real reason is because, driving on the right side of the road, all they do is LEAN OUT to your mailbox and drop the letters in your box. Whenever these people have to carry, say, an oversized package to your door (like a car part, etc ), they act like, for all the world, the recipient (you) is such a problem customer...

They use left hand drive for road sweepers in the UK, so for any of overseas types who might want to pick up a cheap road sweeper this is the place. Sorry it's about as relevant as the first post anyway.

I concur with ErnestM. The folks that deliver your mail aren't exactly the best advert for customer service.

Our mailman actually drives our trash cans out of the way if he can't reach the mail box on a Friday !! Almost came to blows over that one !

and god forbid you get anything that won't fit in the mailbox......

There goes my blood pressure. I need a
