Flip minHD question

Is it possible to transfer video directly to an external hard drive from a flip minoHD?
Thus acting as a giant flash memory card.

I don't know but I doubt it. Both the hard drive and the camera need an operating system to coordinate the transfer. However, there are some photographer-specific hard-drives which 'hoover' images from anything they're connected to, but they're expensive compared to a normal external hard-drive.
