As per title really, I need some work doing on an engine ('78 A Series) and was wondering if you guys had anywhere to recommend in the area?
Thanks

Slark Racing at Salisbury/Amesbury is probably your best bet for that top blokes!

id go for richard longmann - guru. or get a local garage to take the engine out / in, and get saunders motor works to rebuild it for you with a l and b bottom end. (they do a lot of machining for local tuning shops).
be cheaper that way too.

Slarks were my main thought too, I was wondering if there was anywhere a little closer though.

Not that I'm aware of heading over that way you're looking at Byfleet Surrey-Mini Speed, who's figures on engines never seem to add up to me! Richard Longman is the master although you do pay for the name, I've used Slark's for my rolling road stuff and friends have used them for engine builds. i got my engine built at M.E.D in Leicester, they were excellent and built a brilliant engine, just a shame its such a bloody long way to go!

Yell dot com will find you the garage in Winnall that I use for all my work. You dont mention what you want done or how much you want to pay but the owners been swinging the spanners for over 40 years so may like the idea of working on a classic instead all the "modern" stuff he's getting recently.

If your search facility not up to it then PM me ;-)

Well my G/F lives in Chi, so it wouldn't be too much of a trek from there, thanks.

These guys per chance http://www.ocservice.co.uk/

I can only vouch for them 20 years ago, they did a cracking job then sorting a head out for me. Ive never managed to break an engine since, I must try harder smile
