Hi folks...I was wondering if you might have any info on this as we are looking to go in about 18 months and if the car has not sold before we go well take it with us.Anyone know what duty may have to be paid and laws about L/H Drive cars(as they drive on the same side as the U.K)Any advise would be welcome!Thanks again,TOM

Not 100% sure but I think the NZ law on left hand drive is the same as Aus. The law in Aus is related to age of the vehicle so vintage and veteran cars are exempt. Not sure of the age limit. The NZ government web site would be a good place to look for sure.

Looks like you could take it with you provided you want to keep it for at least 5 years. Hope you feel very attached to it !

Petrol was about a third of the price of the UK when I was there a few years ago so it could make sense. Lots of smooth empty roads with fixed radius bends and little traffic. Good fun, but watch out for those shared road & rail bridges !

OH imagine driving your corvette in Aus,, i once crossed the Nulabor plain whilst going between Adelaide-Perth(something like 1300 miles) ,,sometimes it would seem like you could see for 50 miles or more with nothing else on the road,no speed cams,no cops..zilch!!.......just open roaaaadddddddd!!

Wouldnt like to come off the edge tho

Thanks so much for the info.....Yes,it seems like it won,t have to go to Aus for a R/H Drive conversion.The Lotus will be up for sale next year,but first i want to get the engine oil leak fixed,also will have a Starteck P.T ,Frogeye,MGZR Van to sell in the future!Thanks again,TOM
