The loads and forces which the chassis has to resist are largely a result of the reaction between tyre friction and engine torque....ie if you have skinny tyres and loads of torque, the wheels will break traction and spin, thereby limiting the loadings. With a TVR you have a reasonable contact patch, but not a great deal of weight, although the trailing arm geometry does tend to improve driving traction.
There are a couple of people on this site who run substantially more power than this, with only minor bracketry reinforcement for the rear trailing arms as a result of damage sustained from lots of abuse.
Equally important are sring and damper rates to improve stability.

It has been pulled - so anyone here done a deal for it? 284bhp sounded nice but what confused me was that it was advertised as ex eurocar race engine and I thought they were 2.9L with something like 230bhp.

A quick google finds this http://www.bmrc.co.uk/eurocars/ - so was someone cheating?
