Brown Trousers?

Hopefully, I have sorted my first test drive in a Chimaera this weekend. Could anyone please advise me as to whether brown trousers are adequate, or should I play safe and take incontinence pants?

No need for brown trousers, just be progressive with all the controls, particularly the loud pedal and you'll be surprised how easy they are to drive.

A cork should put pay to any problems but may I recommend a few hours practise of "Grinning like an idiot!".

Best thing is to remember that the limiting factor is you, not the car. Take it easy and it's a pussycat, stamp on it and you'll be in the scenery!

I assume that is a joke . If you can stall that V8 on a regular basis, you're a better man than I. I've sometimes get the impression that my engine has stopped completely, stick the clutch in and it carries on like nothing had happened.

I did stall it once, but that was when I was travelling backwards in first gear.

You forgot the huge amounts of torque. I've started from standing in third without noticing and no extra revs before now.

Its just I remember taken my Gruff out for the first time, from the garage.

A woman in a yellow nova let me out, and I stalled the bastard......oh I was red alright.....

Took me a while to get used to the clutch etc. but its made worse coz you are in the ultimate hairy chested drivers car.......

Thanks for all your comments. Test drive confirmed for Sat. a.m. Can't wait! Will be taking cork, bike clips and paper bag as suggested, with the addition of tight collar and tie, just in case.

When I took delivery of my Wedge - I was amazed how easy it was to pootle off from a standing start -- I will agree with all here -- beware of the manual traction control (yer foot !) I managed to mangle my exhaust on a bumpy road within 20 feet -- these TVR's do take off rather quickly if the happy pedal is buried

I did get to sit in an Elise once and then spent the next 10 minutes pretending to be interested in the sparse interior until the salesman was finally called away and I seized the opportunity to make my escape with dignity still intact!!!
