Everyone seems to be moist over Race Pro, but the real star in the crown this week has to be the triumphant return of Street Fighter to the consoles. Anyone else got their pre-orders in?

Shopto appear to have shipped this out really early and my copy and new fight pad are waiting at the sorting office for me to go and fetch after work. I've got an extended beat-down session planned for Friday with a mate as it has been far too long.

Been thinking of getting it, looks pretty good and brings back memories of SNES version, Zangief doing a spinning piledriver, ouch.

However, i brought MK V DC last week and found it very hard with the 360 pad to do some of the moves and fatalities. Although a different franchise, seems to have lost some of its magic from the Megadrive/snes/ps1 days.

Dunno if i can justify it and buying a new controller as well. Let us know what you reckon tomorrow...

Of course, you would need to purchase two joysticks as you don't want the ther party to wave the 'unfair' card when you issue a big dose of whuppass.

I'll probably be there also...

Looks pretty damn good so far, pad is taking a little bit of getting used to and I need to learn a bit more about the new characters as Abel in particular is proving to be a bit of a headache at the moment, last boss is infuriating to say the least too.

I do like the new attack schemes, the way you can pull off more powerful standard attacks at the cost of a bit of your super bar, the focus attacks where you charge up an unblockable hit and can absorb one hit from an enemy also look like they should add a nice tactical element to the proceedings also.

I have to agree with Mr. 69.

It was a cracking game - esp the turbo vesion - and I had that hacking cart that you could use, so you could turbo the turbo.

And remove those specs and you'll see that you've got essentially the same game, but with a raft of improvements across the board.

You'd probably also argue that FPS games don't get any better than Wolfenstein 3D too...

I've just picked up my copy. May have been playing for 5 hours solid since :-)

It's a pretty awesome improvement. I always preferred Street Fighter III to II, IV has certainly made a good addition to the stable.

Anyone want a game?! My XBL name is Maix23...

SF IV is £20 in HMV at the moment...couldn't resist buying it despite not really having got stuck in to a beat 'em up for years (difficult to beat Tekken imho) so will be interesting to see how I get on.

Anything i should know?

You'll be much better off with a fightpad or joystick, but it is playable without. Be prepared to see Ken online a LOT. I'd also recommend going to challenge mode and doing the trials for whichever character you choose, a good way to get familiar with the moves and timing.
