Any1 know how to get a good deal on return Ferry to Ireland?

Im looking into going to Southern Ireland for a bit of a road-trip in the summer with the OH. Am I right in thinking the good deals are all gone now? I usually book channel hops in January when they are cheap.

www.aferry.to seem to have links with all ferry companies, don't always rely on the online price being cheapest either - I've gotten cheaper deals on the phone direct with the company (use aferry.to to get times/guide price and then ring!).
Reckon all the cheap deals are gone - everyone's staying local for the summer hols this year - you know, credit crunch and all

Irish ferries were offering good midweek prices a few weeks back, check and see if they are still available, things seem pretty slow atm

Bear in mind that if you were to sail to Belfast or Larne (not that far from Belfast), Northern Ireland is so small you would be in Southern Ireland in an hour and a half's drive so don't rule it out if the price is right

If you really want to go to Southern Ireland there's a ferry from Pembroke to Rosslare in Co Wexford.

Tip for you though when you go there, if you insist on calling the majority of the island, including the most north west part, 'southern' ireland you'll come across as a right twonk.

Much cheaper if you avoid peak times. Sail v early am (0500) or really late (2300) and it costs less.

The Pembroke - Rosslare line would be the ideal route. Definately wanting to go to Southern Ireland.
