I got sick of cleaning the inches of mud from my rear shock and linkage, so I made a mudguard.

Ingredients:

1 x broken Topeak rear mudguard
1 x drill
4 x cable tie, 300mm or such

Pictures are self-explanatory.

I could have drilled another pair of holes on the largest section to drop the mudguard down slightly, but meh.

How it looks:

It'll probably fill with crap pretty quickly, but wet mud is no match for a spinning wheel so I'm not concerned. At least it'll only be the tyre wearing, and not the shock/linkage. Zealots may like to wrap the frame under the cable ties but frankly I'm not bothered about things like that as the bike is getting some serious war scratches being ridden so often smile

I have a similar OE guard on my Cube (see profile pic). Very effective, not very pretty.

What we need is a "DIY Rear Shockguard Made From a GLossy Piece Of Carbonfibre And Anodised Aluminium That I Found Lying In My Shed" thread.
