Hi guys, I am a firm believer of buy the colour you like but simply wanted some other opinions/views?

Is it a colour that's considered a faux-pas?!

Where would you all place it in the desirability stakes?

E.g. My thoughts are

1. White
2. Black
3. Blue/Red
4. Silver/seal grey
5. Phoenix yellow
6. Sepang bronze

However, white is impossible to come by so am thinking I may wrap it and for re-sale am torn between black and blue (I ask as I am torn between black car private or blue car at dealer for £1k less (cars virtually identical)).

All thoughts welcome. thumbup

Thanks in advance.

Buy whatever colour is cheapest and get it wrapped to your colour choice for 1k.

White is best but now I prefer Imola red to black after seeing them in real life.

Blue I hated but had one behind me the other day and it looked ok.

I'd go for the lighter colour. Interlagos Blue does not suit the car, so guess which colour I ended up with?

Can't see you would struggle to resell an Interlagos blue one - the colour looks awesome on this car.

I can vouch for the comments about Black Sapphire and keeping it clean, I've given up for the moment with all the salt/muck on the roads!

You would no doubt enjoy either so go buy!!!!!

Interlagos looks great on these cars. My favourite colour is the seal grey, with CSL alloys it looks amazing. Black is great but too hard to clean. Red would be a hard sell. White is a bit too fashionable and dare I say...a bit chavvy.

What's this talk of getting it "wrapped" is this changing the colour by vinyl stickers not paint? I've not heard of this before....is it done fairly often?

What's wrong with Interlargos? You just need to see it in a few different light conditions, it might look a bit dull in the winter, but on a sunny day or under artificial light it looks stunning and really suits the Z4MC.

It suits the coupe much better than the roadster IMO, whilst I think the roadster pulls Imola Red off better.

I'd put my colour preference in a slightly different order - especially after seeing Sepang in the flesh with Light Sepang leather.

1. White
2. Ruby/Sapphire/Carbon Black
3. Monaco/Midnight Blue
4. Sepang Bronze
5. Space Grey / Silver Grey / Stratus Grey / Titan Silver
6. Interlagos Blue
7. Phoenix Yellow
8. Imola Red

I'm suprised Phoenix yellow seems to be so unliked, it's stunning in the flesh. If I was buying again it would be a choice between Interlagos, Phoenix and Silver Grey.

i think it comes down to personal preference.. there does seem to be a lot of non owners who don't like IB... in the sun it looks stunning, i defy anyone to say different in the flesh!
I personally hate all black interiors but thats just me... each to there own and all that.

1. Carbon Black
2. Saphire Black
3. Silver
4. Interlagos Blue
5. Ruby Black
6. White
7. Grey
8. Sepang bronze
9. Red
10.
11.
.
.
.
46. Phoenix yellow

all IMO of course! get the one YOU like, worry about resale when you get to that bridge!

Not carbon black. My M3 was that colour and it was a bh to keep tidy.
Silver Grey was the colour I wanted for my M3 but could not find one with the mileage and spec I wanted..no regrets on the Z

+1 on carbon black, avoid at all costs unless you're handy with a machine polisher, because that's the only way you'll get rid of all the swirls, water marks and other blemishes that stand out like a sore thumb on this colour, and seem immune to normal cleaning and polishing.

The safest bets are the black colours, interlagos blue, steel grey

Currently white is trendy, but not sure how that's going to pan out, so could be higher risk. Light sliver doesn't seem too popular at the moment either.

Red cars don't seem as saleable and I noticed a few of them seemed to take a while to shift in Piston Heads for sale section.

It's all down personal choice, buy the colour you want, but I don't think you'd go far wrong with interlagos; when the Z4M C first came out BMW used interlagos in the Press pictures

Believe me, I've seen mine in any number of light combinations and to my mind it doesn't suit the car as well as the lighter colours such as silver which show the design off far better as evidenced by my wife's first Z4 which looked much better than the Z4M.

Each to their own but I don't feel it does the car justice.

End of the day if your car is kept in nice condition and looks good in your resale photos there will be someone outhere who wants one in that colour..

The interlagos blue ... blacks very average! Most of the standard Z4's are in Black... the Blue and White are the Best options for this car! They look very smart, I would take white first choice... But you can't go wrong with the interlagos blue... the M badges look good with the Blue.
