Your right to question the evidence, even if you were speeding IMO....

As a younster I got done for doing 120mph in a 70 limit (which I hasten to add I was actually doing).... when it went to court the evidence was (and I choose my words carefully and politically) not even remotelly correct.

I have had a similar experience to Andy, placed my statement quite honestly and not had that reflected in the prosecution of the case.

Good luck Pete, hope you win this one for the rest of us!

LuckyP,

I had cause to cast around for help for my son a while back, when it looked extremely sticky for him.
All the local Solicitors were frankly dismissive of his chances...even the so-called regional 'motoring' experts/ specialists (PHA!).

Having had the case almost totally screwed by these numbskulls with their advice...I by chance found the website below.

Frankly it was a breath of fresh-air...the guy was very expensive..but delivered. He was in my opinion unequivocably AMAZING! Worth every penny!

This guy new every trick, every technical get-out, etc etc... and he spends much of his time doing educational seminars for other solicitors, trying to get them to wake up and smell the coffee!

You can't go wrong with a chat......

I have absolutely no association with this setup other than using them ...and I will be sure to go back if ever I feel the need!

Hope this helps...Good Luck!

Hmmm. We shall see.

It might have to be a 'hands up' moment!

It looks a tough one, I can understand cases getting thrown out if there is an element of doubt that there could be an error in detector calibration of 2-3 % which would render the offender within legal limits, but you would be looking at an error factor of 40%+ out of sync. I'm not sure even the most sympathetic court would buy that. But good luck if you decide to pursue it. If you do and are successful you should change your name to LuckyB wink

I didn't email them simply because I know how busy they are...and my goodness they are usually extremely busy.

Geoffrey (the founder) was the one I dealt with, but I do know he was not well then, so I am not sure he still works (HA I believe). However Hilary Goldberg his PA took over and I found extremely knowledgable.

Do ring them...!

DON'T put your hands up Pleeeese!
let me know by pm how you got on...

Good luck...not that you need it with your handle! wink

I guess you cant get out of this by contesting speeds, but if the evidence/case hasnt been collected/presented safely, then that would be the way out.

Pete, as an ex Bib , I can tell you theres a lot of things other than the issue of speed that has to be adhered to by the Bib in this case. Dont assume that its cut and dried, because if that were the case Mr Freemans clients wouldnt get off.
